Your Guide to Events in Halifax County

December 5: An Evening with Santa. Sentara Halifax Pediatrics. 6 -8  p.m. Have your photo taken with Santa. Free 5x7 photo, cookies, and holiday treats. Attendance is FREE, but registration is REQUIRED. (434) 517-3538 to reserve. 

December 5: Whiskey Pairing with Springfield Distillery at Drugstore Grill. 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. A food and wine pairing dinner. Reserve tickets by calling (434) 376-2116.

December 6: Agritourism in Virginia's New Economy workshop at Cloverdale Quarters. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Event is FREE; registration required. 

December 8: Opening Night of The Prizery's The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. 7:30 p.m. 

December 9-10: Build-A-Basket at Hunting Creek Vineyards. 11 a.m. -  5 p.m. Socialize, taste wines, and create a gift basket. Live music and food (for purchase). 

December 9: Christmas Open House & Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. Sans Soucy Vineyards.  1 - 7 p.m. Live music, featuring Brandon Loving - 3 - 7 p.m.

December 9: Evensong at the Historic Halifax Church. Noland Village. 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. 

December 9: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The Prizery. 7:30 p.m. 

December 9: Geminid Meteor Shower Observing session at Staunton River State Park. 8 - 11 p.m. A special aastronomy session to view the Geminid Meteor Shower. 

December 10: A Williamsburg Christmas. South Boston/Halifax County of Fine Arts & History Holiday Open House. 2 - 4 p.m. FREE event. Enjoy Colonial decorations, period music, and delicious treats. 

December 10: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The Prizery. 3 p.m. 

December 11: Author Andrea Palmer Woodward (McKinney) will read from her recently published novel, Oak House. Elmo Grocery. 6 p.m. The event is free, and the author will sign copies of the book. Books may be purchased in advance at the Visitor Center.

December 12: HAPPY HANUKKAH!

December 15: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The Prizery. 7:30 p.m. 

CANCELLED December 16: A Day With Santa at The World of Sports. 10 a.m. Pictures and laser tag, bowling, or karting with Santa. Christmas movies and hot chocolate at 10 a.m. and Noon. 

December 16: Author and Halifax County native Riley Tune at South Boston Public Library. 1 p.m. Tune has written screenplays, short stories, and novels, and is the author of the Warper series of Science Fiction books. He will be signing copies of his books. 

December 16: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The Prizery. 7:30 p.m. 

December 18: Christmas Caroling. Constitution Square. 5:30 p.m. Join The Prizery's One Community for an evening of caroling. All voices welcome, no experience necessary. FREE event.
